1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and Wavento ("we", "us") concerning your access to and use of the Zaptik: IPTV Player Android application ("Zaptik", or the "app"). By downloading, installing, or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

Our handling of data is described separately in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.

2. Eligibility

You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and at least 13 years old in any case. If you are under the age of majority, you may use the app only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf. You must not use the app if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.

3. What the app provides

Zaptik is a media player. It does three things with a source that you supply: it parses the source, it organises what the source declares into channels, films, and series, and it plays what you select.

Supported sources are an M3U playlist address, an M3U playlist file already on your device, and an Xtream-compatible account issued to you by a provider. The app also displays programme guide information when your source offers it, keeps favourites and resume positions on your device, and provides ordinary playback features such as background playback and picture-in-picture.

4. No content is supplied

Read this section before anything else

Wavento does not host, supply, index, curate, recommend, aggregate, or link to any channel, playlist, film, series, or other media. The app ships with nothing preloaded and suggests nothing. It has no directory, no search across other people's sources, and no built-in catalogue. Every item you see in the app is there because you, or your provider, put it there.

It follows that we cannot vouch for, take responsibility for, or act on any content reachable through a source you add. We have no ability to inspect, moderate, remove, or restore anything a provider serves you. Complaints about a stream — its legality, its quality, its availability, or its contents — must be directed to the provider that operates it.

Any trade marks, channel names, or logos that appear in the app come from the data your own source declares. Their presence indicates nothing about a relationship between us and their owners, because there is none.

5. Your sources and your rights

This is your central obligation under these terms, and it is a condition of the licence in section 9:

You may add and use a source only if you are lawfully entitled to access its content in the place where you are. That entitlement usually comes from a subscription you pay for, a service your broadcaster offers you, or content that is genuinely free to air or that you own.

You are solely responsible for determining that entitlement before you add a source, and for the consequences of adding one you are not entitled to use. We do not verify it, and we are not able to. If you are unsure whether a provider is authorised to distribute what it offers, do not use it.

6. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

  • use the app to access, stream, or otherwise deal with content that infringes copyright or any other right, or that you are not authorised to receive;
  • circumvent, or attempt to circumvent, any technological protection measure, geographic restriction, digital rights management, access control, or authentication mechanism;
  • redistribute, retransmit, publicly perform, or make available to others anything you receive through the app;
  • use the app for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of the terms of the provider whose source you added;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction;
  • remove or obscure any proprietary notice in the app, or distribute a modified copy of it;
  • use the app in a way that damages, disables, or overburdens any third party's network or service, including automated or high-volume requesting.

The app provides no recording, download, or capture feature, and none is planned. Do not attempt to use it as one.

7. Third-party providers

When you add a source, the app communicates directly with a server operated by somebody other than us. We have no relationship with that operator, no control over it, and no visibility into it.

Your use of that service is governed by the agreement between you and that operator, including anything they say about acceptable use, availability, and privacy. We are not a party to it, we are not responsible for it, and we make no representation about the operator's authorisation to distribute what it offers. If a provider stops working, changes its addresses, blocks your account, or disappears, that is a matter between you and them.

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase, as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Advertising and purchases

The app may display advertising supplied by third-party advertising networks. Wavento does not select, endorse, or control the specific advertisements shown, and an advertisement appearing in the app is not a recommendation by us. Your dealings with an advertiser, including any purchase, are between you and that advertiser.

The app may also offer optional in-app purchases, processed by Google Play under its terms. Nothing you pay us buys content: any charge for content is paid to your own provider, we are not involved in it, and we cannot refund it.

You must not interfere with, obscure, automate, or artificially generate interactions with advertisements.

9. Licence and our rights

Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to install and use one copy of the app on devices you own or control, for your own private, non-commercial use. That licence is conditional on your compliance with section 5 and section 6, and it ends automatically if you breach either.

The app, its name, its icon, its interface, and its underlying software remain ours or our licensors', and nothing in these terms transfers any ownership to you. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

10. Google Play and Android

You obtained the app through Google Play and your use of it is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not a party to these terms, has no obligation to provide support for the app, and is not responsible for it. These terms are between you and Wavento alone.

11. Changes, availability, and termination

We may update the app and these terms. When we change these terms materially, we will change the date at the top of this page, and continuing to use the app after that date means you accept the revised version. If you do not accept it, stop using the app and uninstall it.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the app, in whole or in part, at any time. We may terminate your licence if you breach these terms. You may terminate at any time by uninstalling the app.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that any particular source will parse, connect, or play, or that defects will be corrected. Playback quality depends on your device, your network, and above all on the provider you connected to, none of which we control.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or anticipated savings, arising out of or relating to your use of the app, however caused and on any theory of liability.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for it — which for a free app is nothing — or ten United States dollars.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Wavento and its officers, employees, and agents from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of the app, your breach of these terms, or your infringement of any right of a third party — including any claim arising from a source you added.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws that apply to Wavento and your use of the app, without overriding mandatory consumer protections available where you live. Before starting formal proceedings, you agree to contact us and make a good-faith effort to resolve the issue informally.

16. General terms

  • These terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the app.
  • If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will remain in force.
  • Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
  • You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Neither party is liable for a failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
  • Sections 4, 5, 9, and 12 to 16 survive termination.

17. Contact us

Questions about these terms can be sent to [email protected]. Please say that your message is about Zaptik.

Reports about a specific stream must go to the provider that operates it. We have no technical means of removing, blocking, or altering anything served by a third party, because none of it passes through us.
